Fair and Ethical Trade

We have always been committed to fair and ethical practices since day one. The healthy and safety of our artisans, producers and manufacturers has always been important to us. We also want them to be able to thrive in their lives. Over 70% of our knitters are women in villages who working in comfortable settings making it possible for them to earn equitable wages while also taking care of their children and families. We personally visit Nepal twice a year to maintain a connection with everyone who works for Ark and to oversee their working conditions. We are certified Fair Trade with the Fair Trade Federation and are fully committed to the ten principles and practice of the organization.

We are wholeheartedly committed to these 10 Principles of Fair and ethical trade. We want to make sure that anyone who is part of the process of making products for Ark is treated fairly and with dignity. That means respecting the cultural identity of the Nepalese people and their environment. It means creating empowering working conditions for all of our employees and ensuring the rights of their children.
